Texting setup

Register your shop's dedicated texting number once. It unlocks customer texting and the AI receptionist.

US carriers require business texting to be registered (the industry calls it 10DLC). CarSignal walks you through it in Settings, Texting, files the paperwork for you, and covers the one-time carrier fee.

The flow

  1. Set up billing first. Carrier registration has real-world costs, and CarSignal absorbs them for active shops.
  2. Submit registration. CarSignal maps your shop and owner details into the carrier filing, whether you register as a sole proprietor or with an EIN. You share CarSignal's hosted terms, privacy, and opt-in documentation, so there is nothing to write.
  3. Watch the status. The page tracks it live: not started, submitted, pending review, approved, phone ready. Rejections show the carrier's reason in plain language with a fix-and-retry path.
  4. Approval is automatic from there. The moment carriers approve, CarSignal provisions your dedicated number and flips the shop to phone ready. No further action.

Heads up

Carrier review usually takes a few business days and is outside anyone's control. Start texting registration on day one so it is ready when you are.
