Customers email shops too: quote requests, "my car is making a noise", Yelp lead notifications. Connect your inbox once and CarSignal watches for them, so an email lead gets the same treatment as a missed call.
Connect your inbox
- Go to Settings, then Apps & integrations.
- Choose Connect Gmail and sign in with the Google account your shop email lives on.
- Approve the access Google asks for. That's it; CarSignal starts watching for new mail within a few minutes.
You can connect more than one inbox, and disconnect any time. CarSignal never deletes or moves anything in your mailbox.
What happens to a lead email
- CarSignal reads new incoming mail and picks out the real customer requests. Newsletters, receipts, and vendor mail are ignored.
- A lead email becomes a client, vehicle, and open job on your board, the same way a receptionist lead does.
- A reply is drafted in your shop's voice and waits for you in Outreach, in the Inbox tab, marked as a lead.
Yelp and similar marketplace notifications work too: CarSignal pulls the customer's details out of the notification, not Yelp's.
Approving a reply
Open the lead in the Outreach inbox, read the thread, edit the draft that's already waiting in the reply box, and hit Send. It sends from your own email address and lands in the customer's existing thread, like you typed it in Gmail. Nothing ever sends without your tap.
If a lead isn't real, Dismiss removes it from the list. Your mailbox is untouched.
Reconnecting
If your shop changes its Google password or revokes access, the integration card shows Reconnect. One click through the same Google sign-in restores it.
