How the fee works
- Your monthly software bill is $0.
- CarSignal charges a 1% platform fee on paid invoices only. No revenue, no fee.
- The fee is capped every month, scaled to shop size, so a big month never produces a runaway bill.
- The shop covers the fee by default — nothing extra appears on your customers' invoices. Shops that prefer to pass it through as a visible invoice line can switch in Settings, Billing.
Where to see it
Settings, Billing shows your subscription state, current usage against the cap, the service-fee mode toggle, and the Refer a shop card.
Payments and payouts
Card payments from customers run through your own Stripe account, connected once in Settings, Payments. Money settles to your bank on Stripe's payout schedule; the Payments tab of Financials shows what was collected, what is on the way, and the payout history.
New shops can start free and set up billing when ready. Texting registration requires billing to be set up first, since carrier registration carries real-world costs that CarSignal covers for you.
