FAQ

The questions shops ask before and after switching.

Before you switch

What does it cost? Your software bill is $0. CarSignal charges 1% on paid invoices, capped monthly and scaled to shop size. Everything is included; there are no modules or per-seat fees. Details on Pricing.

Do my customers need to install anything? No. Customers only ever receive text links: estimates, invoices, inspections, and status pages all open in the browser.

Does it work for a one-person shop? Yes. CarSignal is built for independents, from single-bay owner-operators up. The AI receptionist matters most when there is nobody free to answer the phone.

Can I try it before committing? Book a demo and the team will walk you through it on your own examples.

Getting set up

How long does setup take? Onboarding is four short steps. The two things worth starting on day one because they involve outside parties: texting registration (carrier review takes days) and Stripe payments (minutes).

Can I bring more than one location? Yes, each shop is its own workspace under one login, with its own team, number, and billing.

Day to day

Do I have to move cards on the board? No. Stages compute themselves from facts, like whether a quote is sent or parts are ordered. See Stages and next actions.

What if a customer ignores the estimate? The car flags red after 48 hours so you follow up, and declined or stale work feeds Outreach later.

What happens when the AI receptionist gets a question it cannot handle? It takes a callback request, or transfers the call live if you set a transfer number. It never guesses at prices, appointment times, or repair advice.

Where do I get help? The Support page in the app opens a ticket thread with the CarSignal team, or email support@trycarsignal.com.
